MUSCAT: Shell Oman Marketing Company (Shell Oman) and Outward Bound Oman (OBO) have marked the successful completion of their three-year partnership, celebrating a collaboration that has empowered more than 11,500 individuals across Oman through experiential learning, leadership development and community-focused programmes.

Launched in June 2023, the partnership saw Shell Oman become OBO’s Official Journey Partner, supporting the organisation’s mission to unlock human potential through outdoor education and personal development experiences.

During the partnership period, OBO delivered more than 658 programmes across Oman, with its fleet covering over 1.23 million kilometres to support nationwide initiatives.

The collaboration builds on a longstanding relationship between the two organisations, with Shell Oman having supported OBO since its establishment in 2009 as a founding partner. The partnership reflects their shared commitment to youth empowerment, community development and Oman Vision 2040 goals.

Commenting on the milestone, Dr Mohammed al Balushi, CEO of Shell Oman, said the partnership demonstrated the importance of investing in people and creating opportunities for individuals to develop confidence, leadership skills and resilience.

Andrew Hill, Executive Director of Outward Bound Oman, highlighted Shell Oman’s contribution in enabling the organisation to deliver transformative learning experiences for thousands of participants, helping them develop essential life skills and realise their potential.

Through the partnership, OBO programmes reached diverse groups including students, university learners, corporate teams, government entities, non-profit organisations and special needs groups, focusing on leadership, employability, entrepreneurship, sustainability awareness, women’s empowerment and first aid.

As the formal Journey Partnership concludes, both organisations have reaffirmed the value of their collaboration in advancing learning, leadership and positive social impact across Oman.
